Michael A. Falcone's Obituary
Michael A. Falcone, of Manlius, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2020 at Crouse Hospital following a brief illness. Michael was born to the late Joseph and Mary (Ventre) Falcone, Sr. and grew up in the city of Syracuse. He received a BA degree from the University of Miami, a Master’s degree from St. John’s, and a Doctorate from Syracuse University, where he sat on the Board of Visitors for the School of Education. Michael was part of the original Administration that created Onondaga Community College and served as the first Director of Continuing Education where he created several degree programs that still exist today. He later retired from SUNY School of Technology as Dean of Graduate Studies. Mike never stopped learning and was an avid reader. He loved traveling, cars, and the Red Sox. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Michael is predeceased by his wife, Joyce, daughter, Stephanie, and brother, Joseph, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Carla (Bonn) Falcone; sons, Joseph (Victoria) Falcone, of Fayetteville and Nicholas Falcone, of Syracuse; a sister, Maria Falcone (William Kalin), of Syracuse; his much loved grandchildren, Alex, Joseph, Stephanie and Taylor Falcone. In-laws, Anthony Bonn, Deborah Bonn (Jean Metzar) and Elizabeth (Peter) Constas; a niece, Christina Constas and nephew, Matthew Constas.
A funeral mass will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, August 6, 2020 in Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville. Private burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
