Michael A. Iacampo's Obituary
Michael A. Iacampo, age 70, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2017 at Francis House. Born in Campobasso, Italy, the son of the late Michael and Caterina (Manacchio) Iacampo, before immigrating to Syracuse at the age of thirteen. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from Millbrook Bakery after many years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed making homemade wine, playing cards with the boys and especially spending time with his family.
Michael was predeceased by his parents and his brother Nicholas Iacampo.
Michael is survived by his wife of 45 years Edda (Avella) Iacampo, his daughter Catarina (Michael) Walter of Syracuse, his sister Theresa Findley of N.J., brother Mario Iacampo of Lakeport, his step-grandson Michael Walter, Jr., two sisters-in -law Dora Mutone and Assunta Moricone, brother-in-law Giovanni Avella, several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with his poodle “Buddy”.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday September 23, 2017 at Our Lady of Pompei / St. Peter Church. Followed by entombment in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse N.Y.
