Michael L. Longo's Obituary
Michael L. Longo, 95, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully April 18, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Sebastian and Rose (Monaco) Longo. Michael proudly served as a Medic in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He retired from Carrier Corp. after many years of service. Michael was a passionate musician who brought great delight to his family and friends at family gatherings as well as with his band, The Michael Longo Trio, at many local venues such as the Wagon Wheel and several local nursing homes.
He is predeceased by two brothers, Basil Longo and Anthony Longo and his sister, Mary Bugge. Michael is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marie (Marnell) Longo; a brother, John (Sandra) Longo; a sister, Bernadette DelVecchio; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 9-10 am, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Michael’s life at 10 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. Entombment with Military Honors will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt.
