Michael D. Schiano's Obituary
Michael D. Schiano, 75, of Cicero, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2020 at home. After graduating from North High School in 1962, Michael took over Salt City Produce, a family business started by his father. It was not long before he turned a two-person operation into one of the largest produce distributors in New York State. His kindness and generosity were felt by everyone who knew him. He loved the outdoors and spent as much time as he could hunting and fishing with the people he loved most. His family was most important. He loved them completely and unconditionally. If anyone ever needed anything, they could call Mike, and he expected nothing in return.
He is predeceased by his parents, Dominick and Pearl Schiano, and his sister, Maryann (Schiano) Clifford. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Amy (Giamartino) Schiano; his three sons, Mark (Stephanie), Michael (Giovanna), and Jeffrey (Katherine); his daughter, Gabriella; his stepson, Jordon Giamartino-Perla; his sister, Denise Schiano and his many grandchildren, whom he cherished.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Michael’s life at 7:00 pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital.
