Michael T. "Mickey" Taffe's Obituary
Michael T. “Mickey” Taffe, 70, of Liverpool, passed away at home unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. He was born in Syracuse and served with the U.S. Army. Mickey was a firefighter with the City of Syracuse Fire Department for 24 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Liverpool Elks Lodge and the American Legion in Baldwinsville. Mickey enjoyed traveling to Florida, playing cards and loved boating. His passion was spending time on the water on his boat, “Mike-Roe-Wave”. Mickey also loved spending time with family and friends and his beloved cats.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michael T. and Cecelia (Vollmer) Taffe.
Mickey is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Roseanne (DeSocio) Taffe; his two daughters, Michele of East Syracuse and Kimberly of San Antonio, TX; three grandsons, Robbie, Hunter and Zachary; his sister, Marilyn Hagan of North Carolina; his niece, Linda, and several cousins.
A Funeral service in celebration of Mickey’s life will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
