Michele "Michael" Gallo's Obituary
Michele "Michael" Gallo, 68, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cervinara, Italy and moved to Syracuse in 1974. Michael was a Barber with Shoppingtown Barber Shop for over 25 years. He had a love for gardening and the outdoors. Michael truly cherished his time spent with family and friends. He loved his family dearly, always making them his priority.
He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Virginia (Romano) Gallo; his son, Alfonso "Fonz" Gallo in 2013 and his siblings, Gennarro Gallo, Franco Gallo, Francesca Clemente, Giovanni Gallo and Anna Gallo. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carmela (Criscuolo) Gallo; his three children, Teresa Gallo-Slade of Syracuse; Anthony (Shelley) Gallo of Liverpool and Michael Gallo, Jr. of Syracuse; three grandchildren, Victoria Slade, Michael Gallo and Juliana Gallo; his five siblings, Maddalena Bizzarro, Josephine (Joseph) Cioffi, Elvira (Pasquale) Ferraro, Alfonso (Veneranda) Gallo and Maria (Angelo) DiNatale; sisters-in-law, Carmela Gallo and Dolores Gallo; brother-in-law, Luigi Clemente, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Michael's life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
