Michi (Sachiko Nakamura) Stewart's Obituary
Michi (Sachiko Nakamura) Stewart, 92, of Syracuse, passed away December 9, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born in Nagoya, Japan, daughter of the late Kashin and Sachi Nakamura. Michi retired from LeGrand-Pass & Seymour after many dedicated years of service. She was an expert Seamstress and loved to play bingo at The Turning Stone Casino.
Michi is survived by two daughters: Vita Volturno-Malvasi (Michael Malvasi) and Angel Volturno (Carl Dandy); two sons: Vince Volturno (Tina) and James Volturno (Susan); six grandchildren: Sarah Malvasi (Stephen) Trevino, Michael Malvasi (Ashley), Matthew Malvasi, Justin, Brandon, and Stefanie Volturno; a great-grandson, Lucas Alexander Trevino. Michi had four brothers, and Tina Zopfi was her best friend for over 65 years, and Kim James, her very close friend.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, immediately followed by a prayer service at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Humane Association of CNY, 4915 W. Taft Rd., Liverpool, NY 13088.
