Mildred S. "Mickey" Falcone's Obituary
Mildred “Mickey” S. Falcone, of Manlius, NY passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Hudson, NH. She was a resident of Manlius, NY until her husband passed away in 2016. She was born in Auburn, NY, daughter of the late John and Victoria Strecker. Mickey attended Union Springs High School and was a graduate of Powelson Business School. She went on to work as an X-ray Technician and Secretary in Syracuse, NY. Mickey was involved in AGLOW International, an organization of women and men in more than 170 nations whose mission is to help with challenging issues of our time through ministry and Biblical principles. She enjoyed the fellowship it provided with other like-minded women and the humanitarian aspect of the organization. Also, Mickey became an advocate for ALS research after her son, Anthony Falcone III was diagnosed with the disease. Anthony passed away from ALS in 2006. Mickey was a devoted, loving mother and wife. She was passionate about cooking, baking, gardening and nature, and passed that sentiment on to her children. Mickey was involved in the local garden club and participated in many flower arranging competitions. She was known for being a very kind, generous and loving person by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Anthony Falcone, Jr.; her oldest son, Anthony Falcone III; her sister, Florence Matthews; and her brothers, Emil Strecker, Walter Strecker and Rudolph Strecker.
Mickey is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Falcone (Burt Wadas); her son, Daniel Falcone (Tim Stout); daughter-in-law, Dr. Jacqueline Bunce; her sister-in-law, Francois Falcone; along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023, at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Mildred’s life from 6:00 to 6:30 pm. Burial will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2023, 11:00 am at the Manlius Village Cemetery, Manlius, NY.
