Monica H. (Boivin) Carroway's Obituary
Monica H. Carroway, 82, of Liverpool, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Hull, Quebec, Canada, to the late Daniel and Marie-Luce (Pelletier) Boivin, Monica was a graduate of Oswego State and later went on to become a teacher for the Liverpool Central School District before retiring after many dedicated years. Monica enjoyed bingo, gardening, and being with her grand pups. Most of all, Monica loved being with family, especially her beloved children and grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Monica was predeceased by her husband, Peter Carroway in 2017; her daughter, Suzanne Berti in 2016, and her sister, Gail Silvaggio in 2012.
Monica is survived by her children, Tom Carroway, Katie (John) Kuryla, and Chris Carroway; grandchildren, Jordan (Amy) Berti, Jillian Berti, John, Chris, and Sophie Kuryla, Bryn and Sadie Carroway; son-in-law, Don Berti; brothers, Bob (Rita) Boivin, and David (Sandy) Boivin; along with several nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
A funeral service in celebration of Monica’s life will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 259 E. Onondaga St., Syracuse. Monica will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
