Nancy Ann (Grosso) Capparelli's Obituary
Nancy Ann (Grosso) Capparelli, 81, of Syracuse, passed away suddenly on Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of North High School. Nancy was from a family of food grocers starting with her mother's Silver Star Market on Lodi Street and then with her husband, operated DuRock's Market, Park Street Market and others. Nancy loved music, singing and dancing. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Josephine (DeSantis) Grosso and her brother, George Grosso. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Nicholas Capparelli, Sr.; her son, Nicholas (wife Janet) Capparelli, Jr. of East Syracuse; three daughters, Joanne Capparelli of Syracuse, Dr. Cheryl (husband Andy Mager) Capparelli of Syracuse and Lisa Caldwell of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Cara and Nicholas Capparelli, Laura Ann and Joseph Michael Capparelli and Eli Mager; a brother, James (wife Kathy) Grosso of Florida; two aunts, many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and grand-pets.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 11:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum on Grant Boulevard. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
