Nancy (Pompo) Parella's Obituary
Nancy (Pompo) Parella, 87, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 25, 2019. She was born in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Colasanti) Pompo.
In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her husband, Carmen A. Parella in 1993 and two brothers, Frank and Robert Pompo.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Marianne Parella of St. Petersburg, FL; two sons, Anthony J. Parella of Romulus, NY and Frank J. (Cindy) Parella of E. Syracuse; five grandchildren, Danielle M. (Pendleton) Larsen, Adrienne E. (Jordan) Harvey, Nicole C., Kyle and Morgan Parella; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ava and Luke Harvey, Isabella and Alexander Larsen; two brothers, Andy (Lorraine) Pompo and Anthony (Annie) Pompo; sisters-in-law, Joan Pompo and Linda Pompo, along with several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was devoted to her family, her faith, and serving others throughout her life. While never a “career” focused person, she was more interested in raising her children, grandchildren, and volunteering her time. Later in life she went back to school to expand her knowledge in the bible and her faith, while working with young children as a volunteer at Abundant Life. Many of the young children she supported, their parents, and the entire Abundant Life family maintained a strong relationship outside of church time.
Throughout Nancy’s life her focus was always on others first, right until the day she passed away. This giving was in the form of love, listening, advice, and tangible items.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 10 am – 12 noon at Abundant Life Christian Center, 7000 All Nations Blvd., East Syracuse, NY, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:30 pm at Abundant Life Christian Center. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to Hospice of CNY or Abundant Life Christian Center.
