Nancy L. (Woodruff) Premo's Obituary
Nancy L. (Woodruff) Premo, 54, of Liverpool, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday.
Nancy served as the VP of Human Resources for the Centerstate CEO in Syracuse, New York. In her three years with them, Nancy aspired to transform the organizational culture and put the employees – her friends and colleagues – at the center of every organizational decision that was made. She has boosted employee engagement, championed an even deeper commitment to charitable causes and helped to make CenterState CEO one of NY’s Best Places to Work, two years running.
Nancy also served on several professional and community related Boards of Directors bringing her expertise and forward thinking to those groups. After the death of her son in 2014 due to hypothermia, she spearheaded a winter clothing drive for the Rescue Mission that has grown exponentially. Nancy had a very generous and giving heart always putting others first. She loved her grandsons dearly and her dog Lexi. She was an insatiable reader, loved to camp, go cruising and cook.
She was predeceased by her son, Mark Palumbo. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Mark D. Premo of Liverpool; her children, Michael (Ashley) Palumbo of Liverpool; Jessica (Chris) Darling of Wisconsin; Aaron Premo of Albany; Hannah Premo of Buffalo; grandchildren, Mason and Clayton Palumbo; her parents, Alan and Peggy (Columbo) Woodruff; her sister, Linda Woodruff (Pam Bell); niece and nephew, Lindsay and Jason DeBalso; Aunt and Uncle Patricia and Maynard Beehler; along with many relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Family and friends may call on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA. Please be mindful of winter clothing for those in need.
