Nancy (Settineri) Storto's Obituary
Nancy (Settineri) Storto, 94, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Salvatore and Francesca (Pugliesi) Settineri. Nancy graduated from North High School in 1944. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Daniel’s Church and member of the Mary and Martha Society, CBA Mother’s Club and 3rd Ward Democrat Club. Nancy loved her home and family and was the last of 16 Storto’s. She enjoyed cooking and baking for all her family and friends and was famous for her pies and Biscotti’s.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Storto in 2008; brothers, Joseph, Frank and James Settineri, and her sister, Mary Scripa.
Nancy is survived by her son, Richard M. Storto; two daughters, Nancy (John) Ascenzo and Gail (Pat) Battaglia; four grandchildren, Gentry Battaglia, John Ascenzo, Daniel Battaglia and Ross Ascenzo; eight great-grandchildren, Clare, Tristan, Sam, Pierce, Lucy, Susanna, Nicholas and Adrianna; her sister, Frances Serrano; sister-in-law, Dora Settineri, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Nancy’s life at 9:00 am at St. Daniel’s Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
