Nancy (Madonna) Tropea's Obituary
Nancy (Madonna) Tropea, 88, formerly of Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at her home in Murfreesboro, TN where she had lived for the past 3 years. She was born on July 25, 1927 in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Michael and Filomena “Mary” (Saturno) Madonna and sister of Theresa Fricano who passed away on Friday, March 25, 2016.
Her husband of 66 years, Dominick Tropea, and her daughter, Nancy Catherine Tropea preceded Nancy in death.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Tropea (ToniAnn); her daughter, Maria Palumbo (Dominic), both of Syracuse; Elizabeth Furbush (James) of Murfreesboro, TN; her brother, Michael Madonna; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A loving mother and grandmother, Nancy was employed for many years by the City of Syracuse School system in various positions including school secretary at Fowler High School and Henninger High School. She was a long time member of Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club and spent many winters with her husband and friends in Cocoa Beach, FL.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 9 am to 10 am at Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle in Liverpool, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Nancy’s life at 10 am.
