Nancy (Ventre) Campagna's Obituary
Annunziata “Nancy” (Ventre) Campagna passed peacefully on February 4, 2019. She was born on August 8, 1927 in Syracuse to the late Domenic and Pierina (Rinaldi) Ventre. Nancy retired from the Syracuse City School District as a “Lunch Lady” at Grant Jr. High School and was a communicant of St. Daniel and St. John the Baptist Church. She was a magician at crocheting beautiful blankets in any size or color, especially for all the newborn babies. Nancy was always caring for her family by cooking and baking for everyone; always having goodies ready for anyone who stopped over. She would also sew and mend her family’s clothes, making sure that Pat Sr. always had freshly pressed clothes for work.
Nancy is predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Patsy Campagna, Sr. on December 5, 2018; oldest son, Patsy “Chipper” Campagna, Jr.; brother, Frank Ventre; sister, Louise Dunlap.
She is survived by her sons, Tom (Diane) Campagna and Ernie (Terry) Campagna; daughter-in-law, Nancy Jean Campagna; grandchildren, Gina (Dan) Hofle, Nicole Campagna, Nicholas Campagna, Michael Campagna, Sara Campagna, Julia (Sam) Gordon, Domenic Campagna, Joseph (Elise) Campagna, and Peter Campagna; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Lola Kinney; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Roz Campagna; sister-in-law, Loretta Campagna; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Nancy’s life will be held for immediate family at 11 am on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Church, Syracuse.
Nancy had a heart of gold and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. We will miss her forever.
