Nathan A. Roberti's Obituary
Nathan A. Roberti, 88, of Liverpool, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10 at the VA Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Nate was born September 25, 1925 in Syracuse, NY, the son of Vincenzo and Grace Roberti.
Nate was a graduate of North High School and was a U. S. Marine who served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was a well known salesman who worked for many years for J&T Automotive. Nate was a member of the Marine Corps League and an avid outdoorsman who was proud of his beloved camp which is a certified forest under the American Tree Farm System, an organization focused on forest stewardship.
He was pre-deceased by wives, Rosalind “Ronnie” Roberti and Clara Donabella Roberti. Also deceased are son, Anthony; brother, Frank and sisters, Esther Solazzo and Grace Pilato.
Nate is survived by his wife, Karen (Eberz) Roberti and Nate's two daughters, Rosalind (Joe) Vargo of Syracuse and Mary (Royal) Cutler of Delmar, NY; grandchildren, Rosalind A. Vargo, Josie (John) Egerbrecht, Nathan Donnelly, Mary (Jeff) Hart and John J. Donnelly; great- grandchildren, John and Ava Egerbrecht; brother-in-law, Joe Pilato of Williamson, NY. Additional survivors include step children, Bob (Donna) Donabella, Lisa (Alex) Mastorakos, Cathy (Roger) Piger and Kelly Young, along with his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Moore; several step-grandchildren, step great- grandchildren and extended family.
Family and friends are invited to call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Wednesday, November 13 from 4:00-7:00 pm. A prayer service will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church in Syracuse. The Rite of Christian Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in Syracuse.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the VA Medical Center staff and nurses, especially Dr. Ali, his nurse, Lisa and Dr. Iraqi. Additional appreciation is sent to the staff at Keepsake Village at Greenpoint for their care over the last several years.
