Nellie C. (Burkart) Militi's Obituary
Nellie C. (Burkart) Militi, 83, of Syracuse, passed away May 22, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Edwin and Jane (Puzzulo) Burkart. Nellie loved traveling to Matunuck Beach, Rhode Island, her favorite spot. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing cards and domino’s with “The Gang”. Nellie loved spending time with family and friends, especially during holidays and family celebrations.
In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by husbands, Enrico Vendetti and Joseph A. Militi and her son, Michael E. Vendetti.
Nellie is survived by her daughter, Valeri J. Vendetti of Eastwood; three sons, Joey M. (Kelly) Militi of Westvale, Jimmy V. Militi of Syracuse and Stephen A. (Michelle) Militi of Fayetteville; 12 grandchildren, Janell, Jenna, Dana, Ryan, Mackenzie (Matt), Michael, Gianna, Macy, Vittoria, Nikki, Eva and Troian; her sister, Barbara Andaloro, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Nellie’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2019 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
