Nicholas A. "The Box" Barricella's Obituary
Nicholas A. Barricella, “The Box”, 93, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at the VA Medical Center surrounded by his loving family on February 15, 2020. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Pasquale and Lena (Pirro) Barricella. Nick was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. He worked at Carrier Corp. for many years. Nick was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing and fishing. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Barricella in 2016; his son Patsy and great-grandchild, Maleah.
Nick is survived by his son, Nicholas P. Barricella; four grandchildren, Marnique, Melissa, Alexandria and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Gabby, and Amelia; a sister, Patricia Downs, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 9:45 – 10:45 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James St., Syracuse, NY, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Nick’s life at 11:00 am at the church. Entombment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
