Nicholas John Fusillo Jr.'s Obituary
Nicholas J Fusillo Jr., 72 of Liverpool, passed away April 10 with his family by his side after a battle with leukemia. Born and raised in Canastota, he was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Rose Fusillo. He graduated from Canastota High School in 1961 and upon graduation he attended x-ray school in Saranac Lake. He continued on in the healthcare profession for over 50 years and was very passionate about his work. He later retired from St. Joseph's Hospital as an x-ray technician. He met Janet McCabe in the fall of 1966, fell madly in love and married on April 20, 1968 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
He enjoyed living life to the fullest, a few of his many activates included golfing, boating, traveling, motorcycling, and the list goes on.
Of all of these activities his favorite times were spent making meatballs with his Grandchildren, Erika and Gregory and having family and friends over for Italian food and wine especially at Christmas. Nick will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a great conversationalist and his personality was as big as his heart.
Surviving are his wife, Janet and daughter Kristin (Jeff) Purdy and his beloved grandchildren Erika and Gregory; two sisters, Joanne(James) Santone and Marge DiGeorge, a brother, Bob Fusillo as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY, Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Nick’s life at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church Cicero. Entombment will follow in St. Agatha’s Cemetery in Canastota. Family and friends may call on Tuesday between 4 and 7 PM at the FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd.
