Nicholas R. "Nick" Leogrande's Obituary
Nicholas R. “Nick” Leogrande, 82, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2022. He was born in Utica, NY, son of the late Frank E. and Rose M. (Tedesco) Leogrande. Nick was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the Military Police and played percussion in the Army band. He was a graduate of Proctor High School. Nick worked as a produce specialist his entire career for several dedicated years with P&C and numerous other local grocery chains. He was an overall lover of sports and music; he was an avid NY Yankee’s fan and enjoyed his 54 Mercury Monterey. Above all, Nick loved spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his beloved wife, Rita Leogrande in 2020.
Nick is survived by his daughter, AnneMarie (David) Doyle; his son, Bob (Marie) Leogrande; his granddaughter, Chelsea Rose Doyle (Chris Freitag), along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 9:30 – 11:30 am, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Nick’s life at noon in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association.
