Nicholas A. Mallaro Jr.'s Obituary
Nicholas A. Mallaro, Jr., 77, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at James Square Nursing Home after a long illness. He was born in Syracuse, the son of Nicholas and Frances (Geiss) Mallaro, Sr. He served in the Army National Guard from 1956 to 1957. Nicholas was owner and operator of Chef's Produce Company on South Salina Street. He was predeceased by his brothers, Luke, Samuel and Carmen Mallaro and his sister, Grace Tichko. Nicholas is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Frances (Sorbello) Mallaro; his daughter, Annette "Anne" (Guy) DeMascole of Liverpool; his son, Nicholas (Jean) Mallaro of Cicero; 6 grandchildren, Pamela, Stephanie and Guy DeMascole, Laura, Joseph and Gianna Mallaro; a sister, Marie (John) Spuches of Cicero; sisters-in-laws, Marge, Elizabeth and Antoinette Mallaro along with many aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many special friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 9:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Nicholas' family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff of A-South at James Square for their care and loving devotion for the past 11 years.
