Nicholas P. Massarotto Sr.'s Obituary
Nicholas P. Massarotto, Sr., 102, of Syracuse, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Pasquale and Antoinetta (DeNero) Massarotto. Nick was a U.S. Army WWII veteran and was employed by General Motors for over 30 years. He loved bowling, walking, and traveling. He was also an avid sports fan, especially Syracuse athletics, and could be seen at many various local casinos.
Along with his parents Nick was predeceased by his wife, Antoinette (Iauco) Massarotto, along with three siblings.
Nick is survived by his son, Nicholas P. (Loretta) Massarotto, Jr. of South Carolina; his daughter, Kathleen (Joseph DeMong) Barry of Camillus; two grandchildren, Christopher P. (Annette) Massarotto and Vera Ann (Christopher) Coleman; three great-grandchildren, Anthony Massarotto, Alexandria and Olivia Coleman; his brother-in-law, Louis F. Iauco; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Nicholas’ life at 12:30 pm in Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday, August 10, 2020 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Hospice of CNY, 990 7TH North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
