Nicholas Vecchiarelli's Obituary
Nicholas Vecchiarelli, 42, of Clay passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from an undetected heart disease. He was born in Syracuse and was a 1992 graduate from ESM high school. Nicholas worked as a lead carpenter for McClurg Remodeling. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and spending time with his family especially his boys. Nicholas was a gifted carpenter and could accomplish anything he set his mind to. At an early age he exhibited this talent while learning the trade from his grandfather and name sake. Nicholas's life would seem too short to many, those who were touched by him understood that his zest for life far exceeded the quantity of time he spent here on earth. His smile and infectious laugh brought so much joy to our family.
He was predeceased by his grandparents Nicholas and Lucy Vecchiarelli, and Joseph Cresce.
Nicholas is survived by his wife Jody (McDougall) Vecchiarelli of Syracuse; two sons Alexander Nicholas Vecchiarelli and Nathaniel John Vecchiarelli; his parents Albert and Patricia (Cresce) Vecchiarelli; sister Pamela (Brandon) Pelkey, two nephews; Andrew Joshua Pelkey and Kevin Christopher Pelkey; his niece Isabella Grace Pelkey, his maternal grandmother Rose Cresce; along with several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in St. Matthew’s Church. A private burial for the family will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday June 15, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse N.Y.
Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to a college fund for his sons C/o Denise Vecchiarelli, 8448 Bayridge Rd, Cicero NY 13039.
