Nina M. (Malytich) Rocco's Obituary
Nina M. (Malytich) Rocco, 90, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2017. She was born in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late John and Anna Malytich. Nina was formerly employed by the Woolworth Company and then retired as a supervisor from Syracuse China. Nina loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved gardening, playing cards, watching her favorite shows until all hours of the night, going out shopping, out to lunch and to the movies. Nina was a child at heart her whole life and everyone loved her. And she was a fabulous cook! We will miss her more than words can say.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Patrick Bilbo.
Nina is survived by her husband of 70 years, Leon R. Rocco; her son, Ronal L. (Sonya N.) Rocco of Cortland; her daughter, Cheryl Ann Bilbo of Liverpool; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen “Molly” Bacon of Liverpool, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 am on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Nina’s life at 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist Church. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt, NY. Family and friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at THOMAS J. PIRRO, JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse.
