Norma (Omolino) Tangredi's Obituary
Norma (Omolino) Tangredi, 85, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Lena (Scarsone) and John Omolino. Norma was a lunch hall monitor with Syracuse City Schools for many years, before retiring from P&C Foods. She was also a volunteer with St. Daniel’s Church for many years. Norma enjoyed trips to the casino and playing bingo. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Ann Marie Omolino-Heard.
Norma is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Anthony Tangredi; her five children, Joseph (Mary) Tangredi of Syracuse, Dawn (Gary) Kantak of Cortland, Anthony J. Tangredi of North Syracuse, Barbara (Edward) Calkins of Cicero and James R. (Jeanne) Tangredi of East Syracuse; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her brother, John (Diane) Omolino of Syracuse; her sister, Joan Omolino of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her special friends from the neighborhood.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, May 1, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Norma’s life at 10:00 am in St. Daniel’s Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
