Pasqual S. "Pat" Aiello's Obituary
Pasqual S. “Pat” Aiello, 89, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Sam and Josephine (Paul) Aiello. Pat graduated from North High School in 1945 and was Honorably Discharged from the US Army in 1946. He attended SU for 1 ½ years, then leaving college behind to help his father run the family business, “Sam Aiello & Son Heating & Air”. Pat proceeded to go to night school at SU to complete his education in 1966. He worked at Carrier Corp. for 10 years and then worked at Northern Pines as a Manager of the Golf Shop for 12 years, and most recently ran the Skyline Golf Pro Shop. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, with no formal training he made furniture which he shared with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents and four siblings, Angeline, Carrie, Helen, and Sam, Jr.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Betty (Bowers) Aiello; two sisters-in-law, Carmella (Robert) Scripa and Esther Austin; his brother-in-law, Don Bowers; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pat’s family would like to thank Dr. Mary Daye, Dr. Richard Hehir, his cousin, Dr. Thomas Aiello and St. Joseph’s Hospital for their many years of health support for Pat. We would also like to thank the Syracuse Rescue Mission for the dedication and care they give to their clients and the love and support they have all given to Pat in his 30 year association with them. He was always so concerned about poverty and child hunger.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Pat’s life at 11:30 AM in St. Charles/St. Ann’s Church, 417 S. Orchard Rd., Syracuse, NY 13219. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery, Warners, NY. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
