Patricia (Dymkar) Cupoli's Obituary
Patricia Dymkar Cupoli, 67, of Voorhees, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Patricia was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born in Rochester, NY, daughter of Michael and Julia (Huk) Dymkar.
Currently she was Adjunct Faculty at Edmonds Community College (Seattle area) where she co-developed a Data Management curriculum and was teaching. She was working with DAMA International on the DMBOK2, and was working with First San Francisco Partners on a data governance engagement, as well as teaching with the ICCP.
She was the founder of the Chicago DAMA Chapter. Patricia was DAMA-International's representative when DAMA was an affiliate society. She was just completing work as senior editor of DAMA-DMBOK2 (Version 2) for DAMA International which is due for release this year. With DAMA she was President and VP Education over the years. Also the 2006 DAMA International Professional Achievement Award Winner
She led DAMA International to become a Constituent Society and Board member of the ICCP. Pat herself became an ICCP Director of Certification during the late 1990s, and then a former President of the ICCP. She was a long standing DAMA International representative until recently, and founder of the CDMP program with the ICCP. She continued teaching the CDMP internationally at various conferences including DMC-Latam (Brazil), CPCI (Argentina), DMZ (Australia, Germany and USA), and certification in India. She founded the CDMP Exam Cram at Enterprise Data World during the past 10+ years. Pat made incredible contributions to her profession.
All of this she wrapped in a long career in Data Management as Data Architect and, in essence, a Data Guru - in Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance, Manufacturing, Petroleum, Pharmaceutical, Government Public Sector, Advertising and Investment Management.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Anthony L. Cupoli of Voorhees, NJ; son, Michael of Beijing, China/Voorhees, NJ; sister, Irene K. Dymkar and husband Stephen M. Brandt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard C. Cupoli (Robin Cupoli, predeceased) of Syracuse, NY, Dr. Edward M. Cupoli and Sharon Cupoli of Albany, NY; several nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Dear friends Deborah Henderson and Ron Cushman of Toronto, Canada. She loved all of her family and friends dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, August 10, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 11:00 am at Divine Mercy Parish, Brewerton where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
