Patricia N. Sandro's Obituary
Patricia N. Sandro, 72, of Syracuse, passed away at Crouse Hospital on Sunday, October 26, 2014. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Helena D. (Grant) and Salvatore Sandro. She received her Undergraduate and Master’s Degrees at Syracuse University. Patricia was a Social Worker for many years with the Onondaga County Department of Social Services.
Pat was an advocate for peace and justice throughout her life and actively participated in peace movements locally and in our nation’s capital. She was true animal lover, rescuing many dogs over the course of her life and living peaceably with the beavers that dammed her pond every fall!
Pat’s interests were many and varied. She was an avid mystery reader, a Yankee fanatic (watching every game from the first pitch to the last out) and an opera lover (traveling many times to NYC and Glimmerglass to see live performances…)
Patricia is survived by her three sisters, Barbara Paloni, Dorothy Hoffman, both of Pennsylvania, and Rachele (David) Boljonis of Fairfield, CT; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Pennsylvania, with private burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dewitt, NY.
THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME handled local arrangements.
Contributions may be made to Jail Ministry, 259 East Onondaga Street, Syracuse, NY 13202.
