Patricia Lee Taylor's Obituary
Patricia Lee Taylor, 81, of Syracuse, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, May 4, 2025. She was born in Syracuse to the late Robert J. and Ina E. (McArthur) Fox.
Pat spent much of her life serving others in some way. As a young girl she would help at her parents' restaurant. As a childcare provider she would prepare very young children for school. As manager of the Salvation Army that was once on S. Geddes Street, she would ensure that anyone who walked in would get whatever they needed, even if it meant the occasional steep discount or freebie. Yet her strong leadership and good business sense drove the store to become one of the highest earning Salvation Army locations in the region at the time. It stayed as such until her husband grew ill enough to require round-the-clock care at home. His passing devastated her but her drive to help others remained. She volunteered at Brown Memorial UMC where she played a major role in the operations of its Adult Life Skills class. She had a habit of giving food to neighbors in need and has used her bookkeeping skills and community connections to help her neighbors financially.
Pat loved cooking, crafting, sewing, Halloween, romance novels, Lifetime movies, horror movies, tabletop games, country music, and oldies. She also developed a taste for reality dating shows like 90 Day Fiancé, Married at First Sight, and Catfish.
Patricia is predeceased by her loving husband of 25 years, Ralph K. Taylor, who taught her to be herself.
She is survived by her only child, Lisa; her grandchildren, Brandon, Morgan, Zoe, and Paul; dozens of neighbors who will surely miss her; and her feline companion, Onyx.
Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
