Patrick A. Ponto, Sr.'s Obituary
Patrick A. Ponto, Sr. “Fuzzy”, 72, of Lakeland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Van Duyn Center surrounded by his family.
Patrick owned and operated Patrick A. Ponto Produce, worked with his family at Ponto’s Greenhouses and retired from Orchard, Earth & Pipe. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and looked forward to the next time there would be an opportunity he could be with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Frances Ponto; sisters, Annette and Frances; his brother, Samuel, and grandson, Tyler.
Patrick is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 53 years, Frances (Lee) Ponto; four children, Anthony (Tammy) Ponto, Brenda (Brian) Schermerhorn, Patrick “Fuzzy” (Roni) Ponto, Jr., and Thomas (Colleen) Ponto; daughter-in-law, Lynne Ponto; 11 grandchildren, Lindsay, Angela, Ashley, Miranda, Maria, Colin, Anthony, Amelia, Hannah, George and Charlotte; siblings, Katey (Cozy) DeRose, Rosemarie (Dan) Cirando, Debbie Miles, and several nieces and nephews who called him “Uncle Buddy”.
Patrick’s family appreciates and would like to thank the staff at Van Duyn for the care that he received.
The family will receive visitors at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 11 am – 12:45 pm, followed by a funeral service in celebration of Patrick’s life at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Warners, NY.
