Peter J. Carocci, Sr.'s Obituary
Peter J. Carocci, Sr., 94, of Mattydale, passed away peacefully on Monday with his family by his side. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late John and Angeline (Magnarelli) Carocci and was a graduate of North High School. Peter was a WWII US Army Veteran, Honorably Discharged as Corporal. He was also a member of the Military Police in Honolulu, Hawaii. Peter worked in the Body Repair Department at Syracuse Transit for 37 years. He also was a Civil Deputy for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department, member of the Town of Salina Zoning Board; working until his was 90 years old. Peter was past president of the Holy Name Society at St. Margaret’s Church. He was a semi-pro baseball player, enjoyed Bocce Ball and loved spending summers on Lake Ontario with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Phil and Theodore Carocci; sisters, Antoinette Saturno and his twin sister, Mary Salvaggio and his grandson, Eric Belcore.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Anne K. (Galtieri) Carocci; five children, Angeline Devlin-Brown of Maui, Peter J. (Sheree) Carocci, Jr., of N. Syracuse, Antoinette Belcore of Syracuse, Virginia (Paul) Victory of N. Syracuse and Maria Carocci of Old Forge, NY; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his sister, Jean Christopher of Camillus, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 9:00 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Peter’s life at 10:00 am in St. Margaret’s Church, Mattydale. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
