Peter Anthony Cipriano, Sr.'s Obituary
Peter Anthony Cipriano, Sr., 79, of Minoa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at HCA Florida Blake Hospital, Bradenton, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Syracuse to the late Elia and Filomena (Gugliano) Cipriano, Peter graduated from North High School and went on to serve as a Senior Master Sergeant from the 174th Air National Guard. After, he was the Assistant Commissioner of Security and Operation for the Onondaga County Correctional Facility. Peter was a Pop Warner Football Coach for Lyncourt Pop Warner and the Athletic Director for MKAA, also coaching basketball and baseball for them.
Peter was a proud member of the Minoa Volunteer Fire Department/Ambulance EMT. Most of all, Peter loved to be with his family, especially his beloved children and grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Peter was predeceased by his siblings, Elia Cipriano, Edwin Cipriano, and Gloria (Cipriano) Eaton.
Peter is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Diana (Monto) Cipriano; children, Peter (Melissa) Cipriano, Jr., Gina (Nick) Ferrante, and Annette Cipriano; grandchildren, Allison, Katerina, Anna Maria, and Ella Cipriano; Nicholas, Peter, and Isabella Ferrante; and Emily, Anthony, Michael Jr., and Brandon Sabel; sister, Diane (Dc. Joseph) Celentano, Sr.; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St. North Syracuse. Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
The family would like to thank the Trauma ICU at HCA Florida Blake Hospital, Bradenton for their care of Peter.
