Peter R. Daino's Obituary
Peter R. “Pete” Daino (91), a lifetime resident of Syracuse, NY, peacefully passed away on April 25, 2024, surrounded by his family after courageously battling dementia.
Peter was a graduate of North High School and served his country in the United States Airforce as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong aviation enthusiast, held an Instrument Rated Private Pilot’s License, was an avid builder, and pilot of radio-controlled scale model aircraft. He also enjoyed mentoring many area flyers. He was always ready to help his family and friends that his family affectionately created the moniker, C.O.D. — Call On Dad.
Pete was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Diane A. (Drumm) in 1999. He leaves his wife of 20 years, Rose (Zappola) Dreis, daughters, Debbie J. Stack, Sherry A. (Gregory) Bogardo, Linda S. (Mark) Condolora, son Robert J. (Pamela), twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister Susan M.
