Peter A. Italiano's Obituary
Peter A. Italiano, 93, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 26th. He was born in a village called Santo Pietro in Milazzo, Sicily to the late Salvatore and Giovanna (Crimi) Italiano. He came to the United States in 1958 and was employed at New Process Gear for 27 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a hardworking man who always provided for his family. He did whatever it took to take care of everyone and never complained. He enjoyed drawing, painting, gardening, wood working and spending time with his family. He was a dedicated and loyal husband, father, grandfather and friend. He instilled in us that nothing is more important in life than family. We will miss him dearly.
Peter was predeceased by his loving wife, Josephine (DeMauro) Italiano and his sisters, Antonia, Pippa, Maria and Gianna.
He is survived by his daughters, Joanne (Mark) Kimber and Frieda VanHousen (Arthur); grandchildren Erica, Justin, Artie and Alessandra; his brother Franz (Gabriella) Italiano; sister-in-law, Theresa DeMauro; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 9 a.m. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, and at 10 a.m. in ST. DANIELS CHURCH where a Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 4 to 7p.m. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Road) in North Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peter’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, CNY Chapter, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
