Dear Peter, as a colleague and long time friend, I mourn your passing. We had many laughs and wonderful memories. You were the definition of the word "gentleman". Your earthly voyage has been completed, but your spirit lingers on with everyone you loved and everyone who loved you.
I'm conveying an old Irish prayer given to me a long time ago. I offer this to your family and all your friends to perhaps ease the burden of this time. It goes like this; I'm sure Peter, you would share it if you could.
May God grant you always..
A sunbeam to warm you,
a moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel,
so nothing can harm you.
Laughter to cheer you...
faithful friends near you...
And, whenever you pray,
heaven to hear you...
The mirror is turned to the wall, so now......Peter, sleep. Till we meet again,
Liz Smith (Bergen, NY)
