Peter Paratore's Obituary
Peter Paratore, 93, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Peter was born and raised in Syracuse. He was a member of Tuscarora Golf Club for many years and was a communicant of St. Daniel’s Church. Peter was a commercial building contractor owning his own business for many years. In his "retired years", he specialized in building fireplaces that warmed the homes and hearts of many friends and family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, photography, and spending time in his homes in Sanibel, Florida and especially Skaneateles Lake. Family was everything to Peter. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who had a zest for life which was contagious.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Jenny (Congel) Paratore, and his brother, Anthony Paratore.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary (Cappuccilli) Paratore; three daughters, Patricia (Robert) Cashier of Syracuse, Nancy (Casey) Wilson of Tampa, FL., and Mary Jo Downey of Syracuse; six grandchildren, Jude, Robert, Casey, Andrew, Jason, and Kimberly; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vincent Paratore and Joseph Paratore; his sister, Rose Canale, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Peter’s life at 1:30 PM in St. Daniel’s Church. Private burial will be held in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
