Philomena (Albanese) Rosati's Obituary
Philomena (Albanese) Rosati, 77, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Thursday surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 25, 1935 in Syracuse, NY. Philomena worked at the War Memorial for several years. She was an active member of the John Vendetti Post, Italian American War Veterans and Past President of its Ladies Auxiliary and was also Past President of the New York State Department Auxiliary. Her greatest joy was being with her family and friends and traveling to Florida with her husband. She was predeceased by her parents, Vincenzo and Mary (Visciglio) Albanese; brothers, Frank, Dominick (Tony) and Carmen Albanese. Philomena is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dominick Rosati; three daughters, Susan (Nick) Virag, Patricia (Scott) Bennett and Christine (Michael) Venditte; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Angie Carlucci and Carmella (Peter) Vasinelli; sisters-in-law, Virginia Albanese and Ina Albanese along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Philomena's family would like to thank her caregivers from Menorah Park for their professional and emotional support during her illness.
