Ralph DeJohn, Jr.'s Obituary
Ralph DeJohn, Jr., 93, of N. Syracuse, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family on October 16, 2025. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Ralph and Yolanda (Baichi) DeJohn. Ralph served in the U.S. Navy and was Honorably Discharged. He worked for the Syracuse Fire Department for 30 dedicated years, retiring as a Lieutenant, and was a substitute bus driver for North Syracuse Central School District as well. Ralph enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking and loved making stuff for his grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Barbara DeJohn in 1991, and his brother, Daniel DeJohn.
Ralph is survived by his children, Karen (Patrick) Harrington, David (Peggy) DeJohn and Michele (Jeff) Wisely; his four grandchildren, Brittany DeJohn (Chad Tillman), Chad DeJohn (Nicole Pinto), Taylor Wisely, Carter Wisely, and a great-grandson on the way, Conrad Tillman; his sister, Donna Fazio, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Ralph’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY.
