Raymond T. Lovette, Jr.'s Obituary
Raymond T. Lovette, Jr., 90, of Liverpool, passed from this life on Wednesday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Brighton, PA, son of Raymond and Myrtle Lovette, and attended school in New Brighton, PA. Raymond entered the U.S. Army during WWII, retiring with over 20 years of active service in April 1965. His military service covered the Philippines, the occupation of Korea by Japan, the occupation of Germany, Taiwan, Vietnam and numerous assignments in the U.S. He was assigned to five airborne units and made over 100 parachute jumps from 11 different types of aircraft. After retiring from the military, Ray started a second career in security for Wilmorite Inc., retiring in 1989 as a Lieutenant.
He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph J. Lovette.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Josephine (Ruffalo) Lovette; his sister, Ruth A. Bevington of Florida; his daughters, Denise Spiva, Michelle Wilson, and Kimberly Buckner; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren from Nashville, TN; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren from his adopted family in Upstate, NY, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and entombment for Ray will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, DeWitt on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 9:00 AM.
