Raymond A. Meade's Obituary
Raymond A. Meade, 72, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on Monday with his loving family by his side. Raymond was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area and enjoyed spending summers at Brennan Beach and his summer home in Redfield. Ray was a US Marine veteran who toured much of Europe and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed as a carpenter with the State of New York and was a member of CSEA Local 913 Region Five. Ray was a member of the Nedrow Fire Department Auxillary and the American Legion NY Post 1468 in the Valley where he enjoyed volunteering much of his time. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was once a Boy Scout Leader. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Cathy Pelligrini and his second wife, Nora (Noni) Russell. Surviving are two daughters, Susan (David) Alger of Boonville and Lisa Nicholas (Dale Wysluzaly) of Clayville; several stepchildren, Nancy & Tony Pelligrini, Robert, John, Daniel and Dale Russell, Jennifer Duhamel & Kathy West; a brother, Robert E. (Mary Beth) Meade; a sister-in-law, Corrine Meade; several grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may call Thursday from 3 to 6 pm at the Thomas J. Pirro Funeral Home with services following at 6:00 pm. Contributions may be made to the Nedrow Volunteer Fire Department Auxillary, 6605 S. Salina St., Nedrow, NY 13120. The family of Raymond would like to thank the Brittonfield Oncology Center and also would like to acknowledge the special care given by Karen Russell, Allyson Remon and Nancy Pelligrini.
