Raymond W. Preston's Obituary
Raymond W. Preston, 47, of Cicero, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011, at Washington Hospital Center, Washington D.C. with his loving wife by his side. Raymond was employed by Camping World RV Sales. He enjoyed his service as a volunteer for the Liverpool Fire Department and worked as a North Syracuse Police officer. Raymond enjoyed gardening and cooking for family and friends and will be long remembered for his unique talent to make people laugh. He was predeceased by his father, Walter Preston in 1992. He is survived by his wife Doreen (Mazella) Preston, 2 sons Christopher R. and Anthony S. Preston of Cicero, his mother, Lucy (Rosati) Preston of North Syracuse; a brother, Robert Preston of Liverpool NY; sister Nina (Bill) Vanriper of Liverpool N.Y., aunts, uncles, 1 nephew, 2 nieces, several cousins and many dear friends. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all the teams of doctors, nurses and staff at Washington Hospital Center for their compassionate care during his 3 week stay. They also express gratitude to Father Olusola Adewole who became a good friend to Ray during their brief acquaintance. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 8:30 A.M. in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY and 9:30 A.M. in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to friends of Ray Preston, in care of Fulton Savings Bank, 75 South First Street, Fulton, NY 13069.
