Raymond J. Stala's Obituary
Raymond Joseph Stala, 85, of Brewerton, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Aliquippa, PA, son of the late Jack and Fannie (Giocondo) Stala, Ray was enlisted in the Air National Guard and later went on the become a Sheet Metal Draftsman for Local 58. Ray was a devout Catholic and longtime member of the Holy Name Society and IAAC Club of Syracuse. He was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and gardening. Ray also enjoyed going to the casino and most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Ray is predeceased his grandson, Jack “Jake” Stala; and his brothers, Vincent, and Jack Stala.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Grace (D’Agostino) Stala; his children, Annete (Edmund) Lombard, Jack (Kim) Stala, Joseph (Barbara) Stala, and David (Kristen) Stala; grandchildren, Kristina Leahy, Marissa Wagner, Kyle Lombard, Justin Lombard, Briana Burchfield, Nicole Stala, Kayleigh Stala, Joshua Stala, Zachary Stala, Anna Stala, David Stala, Anthony Stala and Alaina Stala; eleven great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M., immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Ray’s life at 12:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212. He will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Mausoleum, Baldwinsville, NY.
