Rebecca A. (Gifford) Valentino's Obituary
Rebecca A. (Gifford) Valentino, 59, of DeWitt, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2019 at Upstate University Hospital. She grew up in Cazenovia, NY. Rebecca was a graduate of The Franciscan Academy, went on to nursing school and was currently employed at the Syracuse Developmental Center where she loved taking care of and helping others. She also had previously worked at Dominick’s Restaurant. Rebecca was an avid card player and enjoyed gardening and traveling and most of all spending time with her family. Her husband and children were the loves of her life and she always said there is “No Place Like Home”.
Rebecca is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Nicholas R. Valentino; three loving children, Nicholas (Yu-Lee), Jacob (Kelsey) and Crystal (Patrick) Valentino; her cherished granddaughter, Juliana; her parents, Dean Bender and Ruth (Wahl) Gifford; her mother-in-law, Beverly Valentino; three siblings, Rick (Sharon) Gifford, Rodney (Lisa) Gifford and Debbie (John) Richer; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:30 pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service in celebration of Rebecca’s life at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Private burial will take place in St. James Cemetery, Cazenovia.
