Fr Lauducci was a tremendous individual. He was always welcoming and accepting, and willing to listen to your point of view. As members of the Neumann community at Utica College in the early 70's, we got to see a lot of what made him special. Vatican II was coming into vogue, and he helped lead the changes, We had Mass in the shared areas between the dorms. We sat in lounge chairs, and used a table for an altar. I remember using pita bread as Eucharist.
In 1971, Fr Jim baptized out first born, and he pointed out to the attendees that "if you do not feel that you have been to Mass today, Sacred Heart has one at Noon just down the street." Classic Father Jim. He left his mark on a lot of us.
