Richard K. Brown's Obituary
Richard K. Brown, 84, of Ossing, NY, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, in Cicero, surrounded by his family. A life resident of Sleepy Hollow and Ossing, NY, Richard was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School, and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from McPherson College.
Richard worked for many dedicated years as a Social Worker for Westchester County Child Protective Services. He was an excellent athlete, avid skier, skiing all over the world; he was a hockey and softball player, and enjoyed jogging throughout the Rockefeller State Park Preserve. Richard also enjoyed swimming with his brother and nephews at various state parks in the region. He was a New York Sports fan, especially cheering on the Yankees, Rangers, and NY Giants.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Eleanor (Sing) Brown, and his brother, Robert.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Brown; his niece, Rachael (Todd) Dydyk; and his great-nephews, Hayden, and Ethan Dydyk.
Respecting Richard’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richard’s memory may be made to the Food Bank of Central New York, 7066 Interstate Island Rd. Syracuse, NY 13209.
