Richard V. Crupe's Obituary
Richard Vincent Crupe passed away on February 13 at the age of 69 at Upstate University Hospital after a long illness with his immediate family by his side.
Richard was born and raised in Syracuse to the late Joseph and Bettina Crupe. Richard graduated from North High and received his degree from Auburn Community College. After an over 25-year career, Richard retired from Agway, Inc. as an information systems manager.
Following his retirement, Richard enjoyed most, spending time with his family and friends. He was an enthusiastic fan of and followed SU sports. Richard also loved to visit the many parks in the area, especially to enjoy holiday barbecues with his family. Most of all, and known for his sense of humor, Richard loved to laugh and have fun with whomever he had a chance to meet.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his much loved aunt, Vinnie E. Dempski.
Surviving are his two children: his son, Joseph and daughter-in-law, Regina (Marsden) Crupe and daughter, Lisa Crupe. Also surviving is his brother, Carmen and his wife, Sylvia (Carni) Crupe, their daughter, his niece, Bettina (Crupe) Siano and several cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family wishes to thank and extend their gratitude to Doctors Whittaker and Narsipur and the transplant team, the nurses and hospital staff of 5B and 8E at Upstate who cared for Richard during his illness, and as well recognize the efforts and support provided by Dr. David Small, his long-time primary care physician.
A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 25 at 10:30 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 South Main Street, North Syracuse, NY. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME is handling funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Rose of Lima Church.
