Richard M. Gialto's Obituary
Richard M. Gialto, 83, of Solvay, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Crouse Hospital after a courageous fight with a brief illness. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Palmer and Ida (Delucia) Gialto.
Richard was loved and adored by everyone who knew him. He was a true gentleman and great friend to all. “Getaway” was an avid poker player and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Most of all, Richard was a loving and devoted husband.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia (Bovenzi) Gialto; his son, Richard (Natasha) Gialto; his daughter, Nicole (Scott) Gialto-Harrington; his stepson, Joseph DeFrank; his stepdaughter, Marie (Jimmy) Marra; grandchildren, Santino Sardo, Mia Gialto, Sofia Gialto, Nicholas DeFrank, Samantha Marra and Natalie Marra, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
In honor of Richard’s wishes, a private celebration of life will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, a cause that was near and dear to Richard.
