Richard A. Palmer's Obituary
Richard A. Palmer, 72, of Syracuse, passed away April 29, 2021 at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Robert J. and Alice (Mondo) Palmer. Rich served with the 174th Attack Wing Air National Guard with the Air Force. He worked as a Graphics and Web Specialist with Onondaga County for over 25 years. Rich was Past President of the Lincoln Republican Club and longtime member of both St. Daniel’s Church in Syracuse and Queen of Heaven Church in Henderson Harbor. He loved spending time at his summer camp near Southwick Beach, and enjoyed his annual fishing trips which started in 1965 with his “fishing crew”, his five lifelong friends.
In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his wife, Kathleen (Scanlon) Palmer in 2003, and his twin brother, Robert Palmer.
Rich is survived by his daughter, Mary Alice Palmer of Liverpool; his brother, Anthony “A.J. (Ann) Palmer of Syracuse, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Richard’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at St. Daniel’s Church, 3004 Court St., Syracuse, NY. To view the mass remotely, please visit Richard’s tribute page at tjpfuneralhome.com on Tuesday at 12 pm. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
