Richard A. Ward's Obituary
On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, Richard A. Ward, of Cicero, NY, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away at his home under the care of hospice at age 90. Dick, or “Trick” as he was affectionately known as, was born on April 8, 1930, the son of the late Alfred and Laura Ward.
A 1948 graduate of Nottingham High School, Trick was also a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from the U.S. Postal Service, after 34 years, in 1986. He worked part-time as a dispatcher at AAA. He was an avid reader, sports fan, and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Trick enjoyed an afternoon beer or Irish whiskey. He was known for his quick and sarcastic wit, infectious laugh, and had a joke for every occasion. Trick loved the sun and could be seen on his patio as soon as the warm weather arrived, enjoying time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Trick and the former Frances Pascuzzi were married on November 19, 1955 and raised their family. He is predeceased by his son, Michael Ward. Trick is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Fran; his children, Kae (Mike) Young, Cindi (Jim) Hardison, Sammi (Dave) Chauvin, Dave (Debbie) Ward, Sue (Frank) Mirarche, Bob (Sally) Ward, & Laurie Ward; a daughter-in-law, Dianne, his grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Watrous, Angela Newman, Erica (Nathaniel) Bull, Tiffany (Darrell) Bohatec, Jacob, Katie & Lucas Ward, & Zakery Ward (Gina DiFrisco); his great-grandchildren, Ryan & Andrew Watrous; Lauren & Ethan Bull, & Mackenzie Bohatec; his sister, Beverly Wilber, along with nieces, one nephew, great-nieces, great-nephews & cousins.
