Rita S. (Contino) Ostrom's Obituary
Rita S. (Contino) Ostrom, 86, passed away July 7, 2023. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose (Nigro) Contino. Rita formerly worked as a registered nurse, although for most of her career, she was a guidance counselor at various Syracuse high schools and ending her career as a Real Estate Broker. Rita was a communicant, part time organist, and choir member at Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville.
She is survived by her niece, Suzanne L. Powell, great-niece, Leanne (Miller) Politi, great nephew-in-law, Jason Politi, great-nephew, David Miller, great niece-in-law, Samantha (Denny) Miller, great-great niece, Noelle Politi, great-great nephew, Ethan Politi and great-great niece, Ava Miller; great-great nephew Levi.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Friday, July 21, 2023 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 4100 E. Genesee St., Dewitt, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Onondaga County, 1654 W. Onondaga Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
